YACAS
Youth Art Club Across Selma
YACAS is our on-going educational programming. The intention is to build community for the youth by providing a space to create with young people from all different schools and neighborhoods. While the focus is community and pubic art, we try to fosters experiences in all the arts.
The program is designed for adolescents and young adults. We welcome members.

YACAS Projects...
While YACAS programming began in 2024, we really hit our stride in 2025. Our first accomplishment was our collaborative public art mural in Phoenix Park created during the Selma Rising Mural Festival. Next we installed our first Windows of Hope series which is a neighborhood beautification project. We installed 11 tarpaper murals on boarded up windows. This project is on going and in community with the Selma's SCNTR. and ArtsRevive.
In 2026, we had our first senior community art project, The Skate Park Paint Party! The YACAS decided to draw attention to the used, uninspiring skate park located in Selma's Bloch Park. Each obstacle of the skate park was designed and painted by one of our YACAS members. We also hosted a community skate party where over 90 people came out to help us paint the entire footprint of the park. Now we are seeking funding or a partnership for skate boards to hold a skate board clinic.
