The Selma Rising Mural Festival
was held on Oct. 18th
in Phoenix Park
at 1207 Water Ave.

We created 9 murals in one location, with over 130 members of our community. The art will remain on display as a dynamic installation for one-year and then, each one will be distributed throughout Selma's neighborhoods.
MACAS aims to use community art projects as a bridge to create shared experiences, enrich our city with beauty, and inspire compassion.
The mural festival also includes an educational element. This year we collaborated with a community artist., Cindy Owens and worked with the students writing and speaking their own poems. This poetry element was accompanied by a school-wide painting on tapestries. MACAS and the guest artists painted with about 200 students. It is our greatest pleasure to bring an incredible arts experience to these students.
