On April 24th, the board announced at their community gathering that MACAS will no longer be focusing on exhibition but rather community-building art projects. 
They announced community art projects they hosted by MACAS in 2024...​

2024 Community Art Projects
​

1. The Free Little Art Gallery

  • Installed at the playground next to Byrd School along with sunflower planting and playground clean-up

  • Make art, share art, take art.  Art kits were available too.

​

2. Mural Festival on Water Ave.  

  • Oct. 18-20, 2024

  • 3 guests artists from Columbus, Ohio designed and  facilitated Community-made public art pieces in Phoenix Park.

  • 8 murals were created and are on display  as one powerful public art installation for 1 year.

  • The 8 murals will be relocated into each ward in Selma before the following year's festival.

  • The festival included design classes with Selma High School scholars  and the painting o0f 4 CTE (Career Technological Education) shop doors.
